Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 March 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Quantum Touch Limited (“we”, “us”, “Quantum Touch”), the developer of Ulysses32, handles your data. The short version: we don’t collect it.
1. The Core Principle: Zero Data Collection
Ulysses32 is a self-hosted application. It runs entirely on your hardware — your computer, your server, your infrastructure. We have designed the Software with a fundamental principle:
- No telemetry. We do not track how you use the Software.
- No analytics. We do not measure page views, clicks, or sessions.
- No tracking. No pixels, beacons, fingerprinting, or advertising identifiers.
- No data transmission. Your data never leaves your machine or server (except to AI providers you choose to configure).
- No user accounts on our servers. We do not require you to create an account with us to use the Software.
2. Data That Stays With You
All of the following data is stored exclusively on your machine or server:
- AI crew configurations, characters, and personas
- Ship designs and settings
- Conversation histories and AI outputs
- API keys for third-party services
- Integration configurations
- All files, media, and generated content
We have no access to any of this data. We cannot view, retrieve, modify, or delete it. You are the sole custodian.
3. Your API Keys
When you connect AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, etc.), your API keys are stored locally on your installation. They are never transmitted to Quantum Touch servers. We have no knowledge of which providers you use or what keys you hold.
4. Third-Party AI Providers
When you use Ulysses32 to interact with AI providers, your prompts and data are sent directly from your installation to the AI provider. We are not an intermediary. Each AI provider has its own privacy policy and data handling practices. We strongly recommend reviewing them:
5. Software Updates
Ulysses32 may check for available updates by sending a version number to our update server. This request contains no personal data, no usage information, and no identifying information beyond the software version. You may disable update checks in the Software settings.
6. Licence Verification
The Software may periodically verify your licence key against our licence server to confirm that your licence is valid and active. This verification transmits only your licence key and a machine identifier — no personal data, usage data, content, or behavioural information is transmitted during this process. Licence verification is necessary to enforce the single-user licence terms and to protect against unauthorised redistribution of the Software.
The licence key is tied to the individual purchaser (name and email address used at purchase). We retain this association solely for the purpose of licence management, customer support, and delivery of updates.
7. Purchase Information
When you purchase Ulysses32, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive your name, email address, and transaction details necessary to fulfil your order, issue your licence key, and provide customer support. We do not see or store your full payment card details — Stripe handles this securely. See Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
We retain your purchase record (name, email, date, licence key, transaction ID) for the duration of your licence for the purposes of licence management, support, refund processing, and legal compliance. If your licence is terminated or refunded, we may retain a record of the transaction and termination for our legitimate legal interests.
8. Marketing Website
This marketing website (ulysses32.com / getulysses.strangematerials.com) is a static informational site. We do not currently use analytics, tracking cookies, or advertising on this website. See our Cookie Policy for details.
9. Cookies
The self-hosted Ulysses32 Software does not set cookies controlled by Quantum Touch. Our marketing website’s cookie practices are detailed in our Cookie Policy.
10. GDPR Compliance (EU/EEA)
As we do not collect or process personal data through the Software itself, GDPR obligations regarding data processing do not apply to your use of Ulysses32. For purchase data and licence verification data, the legal bases are:
- Contract performance (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) — processing necessary to fulfil your purchase and deliver your licence.
- Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — licence verification to protect our intellectual property and enforce single-user licence terms.
You have the right to:
- Access any purchase or licence data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data (note: this may require licence termination)
- Object to processing of your data
- Data portability
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
11. CCPA Compliance (California)
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. California residents may contact us to exercise their rights under the CCPA.
12. International Users
Ulysses32 is available internationally. As the Software is self-hosted on your own infrastructure, data residency is determined entirely by you. Purchase and licence data is processed in accordance with Irish and EU data protection law.
13. Children’s Privacy
Ulysses32 is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
